CrossFit is a highly efficient strength and conditioning program consisting of constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity across broad time and modal domains. This tends to produce the best results in the shortest amount of time.
CrossFit is designed to keep your body guessing by introducing different movements and varied lifts each and every class. Every workout is unique to the one the day before. If you’ve been going to a traditional fitness center with a set routine, chances are you’ve hit a plateau and your body is just as bored with the same old cardio and weight machines as you are.
Ever picked up something off the floor? Or placed something overhead on a shelf? Congrats! You’ve done a deadlift and a strict press. When we say functional movements, we mean movements you perform almost every day. Our goal is to teach you how to perform them safely, consistently, and with high intensity. By performing these movements at a high intensity (relative to the individual), you are not only increasing your strength and stamina, you will also reap the benefits of an intense cardio workout.
In addition to constantly varied movements, the length of time and the number of reps always vary as well. One day you might do 4 rounds for time of kettlebell swings and box jumps, and the next day you might be doing as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) of pull ups, backsquats, and a 200 meter run for 20 minutes. Every class is lead by an expert coach that will coach you and ensure proper movement from the warm-up, the workout, and the cool down. They will be with you every step of the way to assess and correct form…and to answer any questions you may have.
